Our Volunteers

Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation's success depends on the dedication and talents of thousands of volunteers. People often volunteer with us because they feel a personal commitment to protecting and restoring our basin, so that all of us can enjoy it. Motivated by this valuable feeling of ownership, volunteers get involved in a variety of fun, interesting events that we hold throughout the year.

Many of these events are annual, including our Back to the Beach Festival, Beach Sweep, Fishing Rodeo, Golf Classic, and Northshore "Let's Make Waves" Party.

Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation staff also welcomes those who wish to volunteer in our office. Office volunteers regularly offer their time and talents throughout the year. Their assistance is invaluable.

Join the LPBF Coastal Crew!

If you are 18 or older LPBF has a great volunteer opportunity for you!!  Are you interested in the future of Southeast Louisiana?  Do you enjoy going to festivals and visiting with people?  LPBF has established a "Coastal Crew" of volunteers to go out to area fairs and festivals.

Our Coastal Crew members are trained by LPBF staff at the New Canal Lighthouse.  They get the inside scoop on what’s going on in our basin and help us spread the word by manning an information table at events.  It’s a great way to learn about the area we live in and a fun way to talk to the public about what we need to do to ENJOY OUR LAKE & COAST!!

LPBF is forming a volunteer outreach group to help get the word out about Saving Our Coast and protecting our Lake at upcoming fairs, festivals, and other table events. For more information, please contact JoAnn at (504)836-2238 or joann@saveourlake.org.
