Recreation Resources

We encourage everyone to Enjoy Our Lake and the many recreational opportunities the Pontchartrain Basin has to offer - boating, fishing, swimming, picnicking, hiking, water skiing, or simply watching a beautiful sunset from the seawall.

Check out LPBF's Fishing and Recreation Map for Lake Pontchartrain, Maurepas and Borgne for locations of public beaches, State Parks, National Wildlife Refuges and many other fishing or outdoor localities (some never previously published).  The map contains tables with GPS coordinates and contact information for boat launches.  Printed in color on waterproof vinyl paper (folded) or regular paper (rolled) the  20” X 34” map (LPBF copyright 2009) is available in our Gift Shop.

Please remember to always follow the rules of safety and common sense - never swim alone, check the weather before boating, and make sure you are prepared for emergencies. Below is a list of links to useful information.
