New Canal Lighthouse
8001 Lakeshore Drive
New Orleans, Louisiana 70124
Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation rebuilt and opened the New Canal Lighthouse to the public in April of 2013. The lighthouse had been destroyed by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005. The newly constructed lighthouse includes a museum, education center and gift shop. (Admission fee is charged.)
Come experience how the history of a light, a lake and a coast has blended together. Visit Louisiana's only working lighthouse containing a museum open to the public.
